Walter Born’s practice covers all issues of individual employment and collective labor law. His key practice areas are works constitution law and, in particular, advising on complex operational changes (negotiation of reconciliations of interests and social plans – also in the conciliation committee (Einigungsstelle) – on all relevant subjects in this respect, mainly in the case of operational restructuring and mass redundancies). He also has special experience in steering the labor law part of national and international outsourcing transactions and the negotiation of the relevant employment law provisions in the necessary service agreements, employee transfer agreements and collective bargaining agreements. Walter Born regularly advises on all issues relating to transfers of undertakings pursuant to Section 613a of the German Civil Code (BGB), on the termination of employment relationships by mutual agreement or in disputes, on issues relating to misclassified self-employment and on the law relating to managing directors of limited liability companies (GmbH) and management boards of stock corporations (AG). He regularly publishes and lectures on current developments in employment law, e.g. for HERA Fortbildungs GmbH der Hessischen Rechtsanwaltschaft.
